I've always liked the idea of anyone vs. zombies. It will probably get out of hand like everything else but for now, it's been a fun ride.
Marvel had comic books (Marvel Zombies) which was a different take on it. If you've never read them, I won't give anything away, let's just say it affects superheroes differently. Then in like a spin-off I guess, there was Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness. Army of Darkness (or Evil Dead III) was a hilarious movie that starred Bruce Campbell (Ash Williams) who played in the previous Evil Dead's. It got out of hand in a humorous way from the first two Evil Dead's because he went back in time...but there was still demons involved. Anyway, the comic has him intertwined in the Marvel universe with his chainsaw and 'buffoonery'. Alternate realities collide in both comics. It's pretty neat.
Of course The Walking Dead, which I doubt anyone outside the comic world new existed before the AMC series came out in October, buuut, they know now. Also, I loved the series for the short 1st season (6 episodes) and I cannot wait for the 2nd season to start this October. It was a hit.
Besides the popular comics out there, there have been numerous fan comics. One I just got the chance to read is Scott Pilgrim Vs. The Walking Dead which if you've never seen Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World you may not get some of the jokes. It was a fantastic gaming based movie which you should watch (peer pressure) and then read this comic. It has all the quirks found in the movie. =)
And if you have ever played the Left4Dead games for the PC or Xbox and wondered how it all started and some backstory, read The Sacrifice. How did the zombie virus start? How did these 4 come together? What are their backstories? How does the virus spread? Are they immune? Don't they bit you in the game? Yeah, that's some of the questions I was thinking while playing the game. I have to know! Not like it wasn't enjoyable without knowing all of the details. The not knowing might have made it that much better, actually.
All of a sudden I just had to post this. I get in zombie moods soo, that's when I usually think of something. Next time...Xombie Art!
